AAVLD Accreditation Program Includes the following objectives specific to training: To promote adequate training of specialists in diagnostic veterinary medicine The laboratory personnel shall be able to provide competence in all testing groups evaluated for accreditation. Meeting AAVLD Requirements - Personnel 5.2.1 The laboratory shall ensure the initial and ongoing competence of all laboratory personnel to do their assigned work. 5.2.2 … management shall authorize only staff who are documented as qualified and competent to do testing and related work. 5.2.3 The laboratory shall have a system which ensures the establishment and maintenance of a training program relevant to the present and anticipated needs of the laboratory. Additionally, from Accommodation And Environmental Conditions 5.3.5 “…The programs will provide staff training and address all necessary elements to ensure a safe work environment.”

Summary An automated electronic training system will allow you to: • Link Competencies to Training Requirements for a Job Role • Allow you to apply that Job Role to individual users to update their training plan • Review staff member’s outstanding training as well as a complete training history • Easily pull reports to show specific staff members who still need training in specific areas
