  2. Today’s Activities Students will analyze poetry, connect each poem to the American Dream, decide which aspects of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s life are important. Objectives • Discuss “MiniverCheevy” • Read “We Wear the Mask” • After “We Wear the Mask” thoughts • Background on F. Scott Fitzgerald—record at least five things you think are important to know about his life • VOCABULARY WORK DUE TOMORROW! • VOCABULARY QUIZ ON MONDAY!

  3. After Reading “We Wear the Mask” choose one of the following questions to answer in a well organized paragraph. What is the symbol in this poem? What are its qualities? What is it symbolizing? Is “We Wear the Mask” relevant people other than African Americans? Why or why not? Do you think all people wear masks of one form or another? Do you feel that you wear different masks for your friends than you do for your family? Make a list of all of the different masks you “wear” throughout the day and their purpose.
