Hermes • My Greek god is Hermes • The Romans called Hermes, Mercury because he protects and takes care of all the travelers, miscreants, harlots, old crones and thieves that pray to him or cross his path. • Hermes also invented fire, which is a parallel of Titan. • This is the symbol of Hermes (Mercury)

  3. Parents • Hermes’s Parents were Zeus and Maia. • Zeus is a famous god which is the kind of all gods. He is the god of the sky and thunder. He also has three symbols which are thunderbolt, eagle, and bull. The symbol on the bottom is the thunderbolt. • Maia and her sisters were pursued by Orion. The meaning of pursue means that they are caught or attacked.

  4. Children • Hermes had 5 children. • Their names are Pan, Hermaphroditus, Tyche, Abderus, and Autolycus. • Hermes’s children. • Pan is the god of nature, • Hermaphroditus was born with the nymph Salmacis • Tyche had the meaning of “luck” • Abderus was the divine hero • Auotolycus was the husband of Neaera.

  5. Hermes’s weapon • Hermes had a short sword and a caduceus, which is a magical device capable of controlling lesser beings and turning objects into gold. He also flew around the sky and can make humans sleep or awake when ever he had wanted to. • Many gods had arrows as their weapon. This is because they were talented at aiming and using the arrows.

  6. Other Interesting facts • Hermes was the messenger of the gods. His parents were Zeus, king of the gods, and Maia, one of the seven sisters known as the Pleiades. • The Greeks looked upon Hermes as a special guardian, protector, or supporter of travelers, merchants, and thieves and as a bringer of good luck. • Because of this Hermes became a famous athletes. He also carried a staff with two snakes known as a caduceus.
