The Early Life of Mahatma Gandhi: A Journey of Influence and Loss

Mahatma Gandhi, born in Gujarat in 1869, was greatly influenced by the local Jain communities and his devout mother. His father, who worked for the Maharaja, fell ill when Gandhi was just 16. This pivotal experience profoundly shaped his life and philosophy. The death of his father symbolized the loss of guidance and leadership for many, marking a turning point in Gandhi's journey. His friends mourned deeply, reflecting on the void left by their beloved leader, Bapu, the Father of the Nation, whose absence would be felt nationwide.

Perhaps I am wrong to say that; nevertheless, we will not see him again, as we have seen him for these many years, we will not run to him for advice or seek solace from him, and that is a terrible blow, not only for me, but for millions and millions in this country
