  2. CSSC - Background • 2004 Charter Review Commission placed on November 2004 ballot • Proposed a citizen group to oversee a review of services provided by the County and City of Orlando in order find ways to minimize duplication/cost and maximize efficiency/benefit

  3. CSSC - Background • Implementing Ordinance • 11-member Commission • 5 appointed by Board of County Commissioners • 4 appointed by Orlando City Council • 2 appointed by Legislative Delegation • Conduct a comprehensive study of consolidation of City of Orlando and Orange County government services • Hold at least 4 public hearings

  4. CSSC - Background • Implementing Ordinance – cont’d • Provide a report with specific findings and recommendations regarding: • Efficiencies in service delivery • Economies of scale • Opportunities for enhanced intergovernmental cooperation • Other related issues
