  3. Using Skype File Sharing • Select the contact you would like to share a file with. • Using the message tool bar select “Send File” • Locate the file and select “Open” • File will be sent to contact.

Using Skype Screen Sharing • Skype screen sharing feature is currently only available for users running Skype 4.1for window & 2.8 for Mac • Using the message tool bar under the share drop down menu select “Share Your Screen” • Next select “full screen” to show all desk top or “Share Selection” to select a specific screen area • Alternative screen sharing options for users running a later version of Skype will be covered later in this module.

Using Instant Messaging & Emoticons • Select the contact you would like to send a message to. • Using the message box at the bottom of the Skype window type your text message. • Select the “Send” button • Skype will keep a running log of messages you send to the contact. • You can also select an emoticon to send to your contact and enhance your communication

Use Skype Extra Collaboration Tools • Skype also provides Third party applications which offer additional collaboration tools. • Using the main menu bar under the “Tools” drop down select “Extras” and then “Organize Your Extras” • From the “Extra Manager” you can search Third Party applications supported by Skype which offer you additional collaboration options such as: • Inner Pass: Offers file sharing for users running Skype version greater than Skype 4.1 for window & 2.8 for Mac. • Pamela Call Recorder & VodBuner: Allows users to record calls for later reference • White Board Meeting: Provides users a white board function for collaboration • These Third Party applications are offered to Skype users for free or a discounted prices depending on how they are used
