  1. DriveWorks – Product Configurator Design-to-Order Configure your product Generate all the engineering data & documentation needed automatically • Click anywhere to proceed with the presentation

  2. DriveWorks – Product Configurator This interactive presentation shows how users can design or engineer-to-order using DriveWorks (Users can be anybody from engineers to sales people through to customers and non-technical personnel) If some or all of your product design can be defined by rules, then new or variant products can be designed or engineered to order using DriveWorksDriveWorks allows the user to configure the product and then generate all the required documentation automatically. In many instances reducing the time taken from weeks to hours or even minutes This documentation includes the customer quotation, cutting lists, BOMs, 3D & 2D drawings, DXF’s etc. • Click Next to Proceed

  3. Open DriveWorks DriveWorks is appropriate for any product or range of products where new or variant designs can be configured from a set of rules. DriveWorks is currently being used in many diverse markets: from trailers to elevators, from furniture to food counters, from cubicles to conveyors. In this example we are going to create a new conveyor. Select Conveyor Line from the image on the right Select and then Specify New Product from the list

  4. Project Information The User Forms are created by the DriveWorks Administrator The Administrator has already captured and assigned the rules affecting the product, and determined which ones the user can specify and ‘drive’ By working through the input forms, the User can design their own new or variant product. DriveWorks will then create the 3D models, 2D drawings and other required documentation automatically There is no danger of designing something that cannot be manufactured, as the rules have already been set S A M P L E • Click anywhere to proceed to specification

  5. Project Information This example will create.. • Quotation • Document Record Note • Cutting List • 2D Approval Drawing • 3D models • DXF files • All the engineering information to enable the manufacture of every required component including DriveWorks can be integrated with other company systems, such as CRM, ERP and MRP. In this interactive example it is possible to select a customer from a drop down list. This information would usually be read directly from the CRM database. • Select a Customer or Create New Customer • Choose a Quote number or Create New Quote • Select who is Specifying this product • Click Next

  6. Create New Customer Sub Forms can be used to enter supplementary information or data that needs to appear in other applications. This example creates New Customer Information that will populate a CRM database and become available on the main customer selection form. • Enter the details of the New Customer in the boxes provided. • Click Apply

  7. Create New Quote This is another example of a sub form where a Customer is selected from a drop down list and a new quote and project assigned to that customer • Enter a quote number • Enter a Project definition • Click Apply

  8. Design Specification The information specified here is critical to the design of the product. Here we will drive a number of parameters. Intelligence can be built into each control on the User Form. Controls can be enabled or disabled dependant on choices made elsewhere Controls can be populated dynamically to include options that can only be selected from previous selections. Error Validation takes place instantly Enter an incorrect value in the Length or Height Controls and try hitting Next! On Screen Help Move the mouse over the Length and Height Controls – to hide the tooltip move the mouse to a blank area of the user form The User Form can also include images to assist in the selection process • Configure the product by selecting options from the form • Click Next

  9. your logo Quotation A quotation, based on the information specified, is then returned directly to the User If any changes are required the user can return to a previous form The information in the Quotation can also be formulated in the Master Design Sheet that controls the product. This can be saved as any file type that is available in Excel (.doc, .pdf, .html, .xml, etc) • Click anywhere to proceed with the presentation

  10. Manufacturing Documentation Further examples of documentation that can be automatically created include……. Cutting Lists Again the results can be reported to the User Form and formulated in the Master Design Sheet for saving out as a separate file. • Click anywhere to proceed with the presentation

  11. Purchasing Information Further examples of documentation that can be automatically created include……. Purchase Requisition Notes • Click anywhere to proceed with the presentation

  12. ERP/ MRP Integration Further examples of documentation that can be automatically created include……. Detailed Bills of Materials These type of results are formulated in the Master Design Sheet and can be saved out as a file type that can be read into any Windows based ERP/ MRP system. • Click anywhere to proceed with the presentation

  13. Quality Documentation Quality Documentation DriveWorks is a great aid to Quality Management Again the results can be reported to the User Form and formulated in the Master Design Sheet for saving out as a separate file. • Click anywhere to proceed with the presentation

  14. Generate 3D & 2D Output Based on the variables specified, DriveWorks makes the necessary changes to all the associated parts and assemblies DriveWorks automatically creates documentation and linking to any other windows based application is done instantly while the forms are being completed or any apply button is clicked. DriveWorks is fully integrated with SolidWorks and generates all the 3D models and 2D drawings … A great sales and marketing tool + DriveWorksUser (Stand Alone) DriveWorksUser (Network) + DriveWorksAdmin or Server “What you see is what you get” DriveWorks.NET • Click anywhere to proceed with the presentation
