Kite Presentation

This presentation showcases the research team's exploration of kite design, focusing on the most common designs, critical aspects like application, altitude, and stability, while deemphasizing aesthetics. Our initial prototypes fell short in stability, prompting a shift in ideas. Although preliminary tests showed some flight success, stability remained a challenge. A line addition was implemented to enhance performance. Ultimately, our design accomplished the task of signaling, though we aim for greater stability moving forward. 1. Team 2: Zachary Stewart, Brian Moore, Noah Hanahan, Becca Poling Kite Presentation

  2. Kite Research • Research Most Common Designs • Most Important: Application, Altitude, Stability • Least Important: Aesthetics

  3. Brainstorming Ideas

  4. Prototype Phase • Paper prototype was not sufficient • Not very stable

  5. Final Product • Plans A-E were not sufficient • We decided a different idea…

  6. Flying and Testing • When flying, the kite was successful at times. • However, the kite still lacked stability • Ran line to add stability

  7. Final Remarks • Pros of Design: Flew, Accomplished Task of Signal • Cons: Would have liked to have more stability • Block Flow- • http://www.personal.psu.edu/zts5064/Zachary/teamwebsite.htm
