  2. Framework to Increase Student Learning • Build • ⇒ Coherent - aligned across programs • ⇒ Internal – across SEA, LEA, school • ⇒ Supports – on-site visits, materials/ tools, professional learning

Need to Build Internal Coherent Supports All states are focused on improving their persistently low-performing schools. • Schools need assistance with how to best serve their students that are learning English, students with disabilities, students of poverty, and students from minority groups.

  4. Challenges – Benefits ELLs often is a subgroup not meeting AYP Title III knowledgeable ELLS Title I staff knowledgeable school improvement LEAs receive limited funding for ELLs through Title III

  6. Merge Our Plans, Reviews, Monitoring • Combine across programs and initiatives: • Templates for school improvement plans • Reviewing of applications • On-site monitoring visits

  7. Merge Professional Learning Opportunities • Provide cross-title/program trainings • Train all teachers • Use research-based effective practices • Provided over time • Job-embedded • With coaching/mentoring

  9. Model Collaboration • SEAs demonstrate to LEAs working across Title programs and initiatives • LEAs demonstrate to schools working across Title programs and initiatives • Build “super-group” leadership teams at schools

  10. Build Our Capacity Together • Get to know other staff • Understand the basic requirements of other’s program • Use the grants management office to work together

  11. Build Internal Coherent Supports • Merge our plans, reviews, monitoring • Merge our professional learning opportunities • Model collaboration • Build our capacity together
