  2. GOAL FOR TODAY MAKE SHIRTS – The size has to be what is on the chalk board You have 7 days ( 7 minutes) to make shirts to bring to the next market. There is a supplier there that will purchase your shirts. You can only sell shirts at the weekly market.
  3. STEP ONE YOU WILL GET INTO GROUPS OF 4 OR 5 – PUT YOUR DESKS TOGETHER Give me you family name – You have a life savings of $20, this is all the money you have – and now you want to start a shirt business
  4. STEP TWO YOU NEED TO PURCHASE SUPPLIES FROM Market $5 FOR SCISSORS $4 FOR A RULER $ 1 FOR A SHEET OF PAPER $2 FOR A COLOUR $1 FOR A PENCIL

  6. WEEK 1 MARKET SHIRT PRICES – Good quality - $0.50 Poor quality - $0.25 MAKE SURE TO STOCK UP ON SUPPLIES. THIS IS THE ONLY TIME YOU CAN PURCHASE SUPPLIES FOR THE NEXT WEEK. $5 FOR SCISSORS $4 FOR A RULER $ 1 FOR A SHEET OF PAPER $2 FOR A COLOUR $1 FOR A PENCIL

  10. Factory Simulation Now every one works in a factory. I need the rulers back because we have a new technology….. Shirt templates I, the factory owner, will give you a job at my factory. You will keep producing shirts but if you need any supplies just ask anytime because I can get you them.

  12. Questions to Ponder As a group discuss and answer these questions on a piece of loose-leaf to hand in to me. Make sure all your names are on it. 1) What were the problems/benefits of the domestic system? 2) What are the variables that determine success in the domestic? 3) What are the problems/benefits with the factory system? 4) Imagine it was 1795, you had the choice to either work from home or work in a factory what would you choose to do.? Tell me why?
