  2. Overview •  Electronic grade book is a program to use to store student information, class number, subject, grade or assignment, and attendance. These programs will save teacher a lot of time because they don’t need to writing down. With the electronic grade book teacher can enter grade by just clicking on button. Also, it allows teachers to generate professional electronic and paper report.   • There are difference types of electronic grade book that you can use example; Microsoft excel, grade log and Micro Grade.

  4. Features • Can create chart • Enter student grade by clicking on button instead of writing on a paper • Can filter assignment or score you want to see • Can record attendance • Can email report, attach email message and send to student parents 

  5. What is MicroGrade? • MicroGrade is a grading program. It is an essential software tool for educators at any grade level. Teachers can save an hour each day by using MicroGrade to automate the tasks of scoring assignments, calculating grades, and evaluating student performance. Then, with MicroGrade’s optional email and Internet grade posting features, teachers can easily communicate progress to students and parents.  

  6. MicroGrade Directions • Insert CD into computer • Click Local Disk (c:) • Look for Elementary MicroGrade 6.1.3, then open it • Click on MicroGrade EL • Registration • Enter First and Last Name • School Name • Email Address • Confirm Email Address • Click try MicroGrade • Click New Class • Click Quick Start

  7. Continued… • Step 1: Name your class • Enter Class Name • Click next • Step 2: Set class preferences • Click next • Step 3: Set grade standards • Click Set Grade Standard • View or change grade standard, then click ok

Continued… • Step 4: Add categories and assignments • Click Add Category and Assignments • Enter Category Title and Abbrev. • Click single assignment category, then enter maximum score and date • Click enter • You can add category title as much as you want • Click ok • Step 5: Add student records • Click Add Student Records • Enter student information: Last name, First name, Student ID, Gender, Phone and Email Address • You can edit student information by click on student name on the left side • Click finish when you done • Dialog pop up click finish to begin working with your new class

  9. To Take Attendance • Go to Students Tab • Scroll down to "Setup Attendance" • Enter attendance date • Enter the first day of class • Enter the last day of class • Click Ok

Teacher Uses •  For today's teachers, electronic grade books offer an array of possibilities: • Some of the basic features are the listing of students, the averaging of scores, and assignment descriptions. • Fore more advanced users, Electronic GradeBook enable teachers to take attendance, email parents or students, weight scores on assignments, color code for homework verses test or for low grades. • Gradebooks have been designed in ways that aid a teacher depending upon the grade level that they are teaching: •  For example, elementary teachers can place the categories based upon each subject area that they teach, where junior high and high school teachers can separate their classes. •  The Electronic GradeBook also offers the teacher the ability to combine the grading terms for the final calculation.

Student Uses •  Improves the communication, builds the email feature for student and parent contact to communicate with the teacher. • Securely post to the internet with web grade. • Students and parents can search for the grade through grade book. • MicroGrade can email the following reports: the class roster report, the student summary reports, the class standards, and the grade by assignment reports, the free form report, progress report and attendance report. • The emails can be sent for one, many or all students. • Students access the GradeBook through students ID and password that is provided by MicroGrade.
