Empowering Print-Impaired Individuals: Building an Accessible Library Network in France

Association Valentin Haüy's AVH library offers a range of services for visually impaired individuals, including Braille, large print, audio, and digital documents. With over 4000 active users in 2013, the library promotes inclusivity by providing accessible materials and training for public libraries across France. Through partnerships and initiatives like "Agir pour la Lecture," AVH aims to reach 1.2 million visually impaired individuals and expand services to those with motor, mental disabilities, and dyslexia. The goal is to create a cooperative French model for inclusive library services.
