Ecuador’s business environment faces several significant challenges that hinder economic growth. Five main issues impede effective business operations: 1) Political system instability; 2) Lengthy procedures for starting a business and obtaining administrative permits; 3) Legal uncertainty affecting investment decisions; 4) Inadequate respect for property rights; and 5) Lack of a stable macroeconomic framework and weak investor protection. Addressing these issues at the national level is crucial for fostering a more conducive business climate. These challenges are currently priorities for business management organizations in their strategic planning and advocacy efforts.
