The Society Founding Premise: The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International was founded to bring together qualified women educators serving in a broad spectrum of educational fields to pursue professional projects. Mission Statement: The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International promotes professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education.

Seven Purposes 1. To unite women educators of the world in a genuine spiritual fellowship 2. To honor women who have given or who evidence a potential for distinctive service in any field of education
Purposes 3. To advance the professional interest and position of women in education 4. To initiate, endorse, and support desirable legislation or other suitable endeavors in the interests of education and of women educators
Purposes 5. To endow scholarships to aid outstanding women educators in pursuing graduate study and to grant fellowships to non-member women educators. 6. To stimulate the personal and professional growth of members and to encourage their participation in appropriate programs of action
Purposes 7. To inform the members of current economic, social, political, and educational issues so that they may participate effectively in a world society The activities of each level of the Society implement the Purposes of the Society.
Membership • Is by invitation • Represents a broad cross section of educational interests • Qualifications • Employed in an educational position or as a self-employed educator • Retired from an educational position • Live in one of 18 countries where DKG is established

International Projects S.E.E. – Supporting Early-Career Educators • being available to support for phone calls and visits, • helping with lesson plans and bulletin board ideas,• offering advice on classroom management and parent-teacher relations, and • providing support in any way that is appropriate and practical.
International Projects SFA – Schools for Africa • Build and rehabilitate 1,000 schools • Create schools that offer a safe and protective environment where children can learn and play; • Provide access to clean water and separate sanitation facilities for boys and girls in those schools; • Supply exercise books, pens, proper furniture and other school and sports materials; • Train 100,000 teachers to provide children with quality education and basic life skills; • Educate children about proper hygiene and HIV prevention; this • knowledge is passed on to siblings, parents, and the community at large.
