FVS Data Translocation Techniques with the BLM FORVIS Database

This presentation outlines the use of translocation techniques with the BLM FORVIS Database, essential for forest vegetation management. Initially released in 2001, the FORVIS (Forest Vegetation Information System) has evolved through versions, with Version 2 launched in 2005. The database, distributed via state offices and using MS Access for user interaction, includes 32 data tables, although only two are relevant to Forest Vegetation Simulator (FVS), focusing on stand and tree data. We explore the integration of FVS runs into FORVIS and pose critical questions regarding database utilization for improved forest management strategies.
