  1. “Chalk” Talk

  2. General Instructions • Read the highlighted section(s) at ONE of the SEVEN stations. • Read the questions associated with the respective section(s). • Answer the questions by EITHER beginning a NEW response thread in one of the “new thread” spaces OR replying to an existing thread in the respective “open thread” spaces; make certain that your responses answer all appropriate questions and are written legibly. AIM TO SUBMIT ORIGINAL INSIGHTS, AND NOT SIMPLY REGURGITATEWHAT SOMEONE ELSE HAS ALREADY SHARED. THREE TO FOUR SENTENCES PER RESPONSE IS EXPECTED. • Make sure to record your LAST name in the appropriate location; failure to do so will result in lost credit for the exercise. • Rotate to FOUR other stations and repeat the process for each. • Do not rush. Take some time to consider each passage, and then take some time to read how others have already replied to the respective passage. This is meant to mimic a discussion, so it’s vital to read how others have responded to the text. • Be respectful of others’ ideas. Criticism is expected, but personal attacks are off limits. Be intelligent about how you communicate your ideas. • Be mindful of the credit you’ll be earning, which is 15 points in all. You’ll get ten points for your written responses and another five for your effort/participation (i.e. your ability to follow directions and maintain SILENCE). Your annotations make another 10 points, for 25 total.
