  1. Judiciary Replica According to judicial status huge amount of judges arerequiredin India. The judiciary is important because it interprets the laws of the nation. The judiciary also has the power to compel the production of evidence. Judiciary not only administers justice, it protects the rights of the citizens and it acts as the interpreter and guardian of the constitution. It can invalidate such laws and decrees which are not constitutional. The judiciary in India comprises the Supreme Court at the apex. The states have high courts. Down below there are district courts and below them the courts at lower levels. India does need a great figure in count of judges. As, India has just 13 judicial posts per million people, though the law commission had recommended 50 judges per million of the population, based on the ratio prevalent in the US in 1981. Vacancies are massive, and the scarcity is getting worse in some statesdue tojudicial absenteeism. As of today, according tothe structureof courts it reflects ratings as there are more than 2.18 crore cases pending in districts courts across the country, from which two-thirds are criminal cases and one in every ten cases have been pending for more than 10 years. With India’s population being pegged at 1.2 billion as of May 2016, applying this benchmark, India should have approximately 60,000 judges. As on 1 January 2016, according to court news, a publication of the supreme court of India, there were 16,119 judges in the subordinate judiciary, 598 in high courts and 26 in the Supreme Court. The ratio shows that Delhi stands out for having the worstpopulation tojudge ratio. While the national average ratio is 73,000 people to every judge, but Delhi is almost seven times worse with about only judge to 5, 00,000people & budget allocation for judiciary is amiserly 0.2 percentof the grossdomestic product and the judge population ratio is 10.5judge to everyone million, which should be at least 50-60 for every million as per ratings. Citizens look tothe judiciary to uphold their rights and governmentslook tothe courts tointerpret laws. In a democracy, the role of judiciary is crucial. An independent and impartial judiciary can make the legal system vibrant. Judiciary plays a major role in Indian govt. The confidence of people on the judiciary has, overthe years, multiplied.
