Other benefits of using Clustering • Use clustering to get MAC addresses to the whole network. • A MAC address identified in one AP will be automatically copied to the rest of the cluster of up to AP’s. • Reduce downtime – an unskilled person can install an AP • Simply replace an access point and the cluster will auto configure it. • Technician visit to a location is not necessary • Configure more than 8 AP’s by connecting to a Switch for the initial ‘reference AP’ configuration process. • Configure first ‘Reference AP’ and attach to a switch • Insert second AP, power up, configuration is copied automatically • Remove second AP physically and install in proper network • Delete second AP from ‘Reference AP’ list • Insert another AP, power up, configuration is copied automatically etc..
