  1. Research AdministrationPAMS Tips 12/5/13

  2. Subawards • List the name of the other party as the “funding agency”; we’re using that spot to identify who the other party is. List the actual sponsor as the “prime funding agency.”

  3. For Payable Subawards

  4. Contract Amendments • In PAMS, show only the changes: • Budget (additional $ or decrease in $) • If non-budgetary changes, put in a note explaining what the change is (changing PI, adding time but no $, etc.) • For dates, use the period affected by the amendment. • Please include the abstract again (not “amendment to existing project”) – Can cut and paste.

  5. For Technology (e.g., Invention) Disclosures • Choose “UTRF” as the “funding agency.” • Use the date of Disclosure as project dates. • Usually “applied research” as functional area code. • Select “Technology Disclosure” as Award Instrument. • Mark the abstract as NOT for public disclosure.

  6. RPPR • All multi-year funded (MYF) awards now require RPPRs for the progress reports instead of eSNAPS. • MYFs are awards for which the project period and budget period are the same and are longer than one year; examples are C06, DP2, DP3, and R15. • Instructions: http://grants.nih.gov/grants/rppr/ • Done in Commons by PIs or their delegates • Webinars available at the NIH web site. • Similaries and differences between RPR and eSNAP: http://grants.nih.gov/grants/rppr/rppr_vs_esnap.htm • NOTE: Effort is rounded to nearest whole person month.
