Development of a Flexible Metadata Database for Specimen and Image Management

This project aims to establish a versatile metadata database structure designed for handling various specimen data and images, including live plant images. The system will facilitate seamless data output to consumers such as Morphbank, GBIF, and a SERNEC web portal. Additionally, contributor interfaces will be developed to enable rapid data entry or transfer, minimizing the effort required from contributors. The design focuses on flexibility and efficiency, ensuring that diverse datasets can be managed effectively.
