  2. Why do we have a urinary system? • Cleans the waste out from the blood • Helps keeps you healthy

  3. Moving through the Urinary System • Renal Artery - Carries blood from the heart to the kidneys • Renal Vein – carries the waste from kidneys to the bladder

  4. The Kidneys • Clean the blood • Send the waste to the bladder

  5. The Bladder • The Bladder mixes the waste with other chemicals • When the bladder is full it sends a message to the brain • When the brain gets the message it tells your body to go to the bathroom

  6. How you keep the Urinary System healthy • Drink 6-8 cups of water • Listen to your body when your Bladder needs emptying • If you have any burning or pain, tell an adult. You could have an infection!
