The Second Set of Tables • Faith and repentance • Baptism for remission of sins • The Ten Commandments • The law of sacrifice and offerings • See D&C 84:26–27. • Law of Carnal Commandments: • Ceremonial rites • Mosaic offerings • Civil laws to help Israel remember God daily. Instead, the Israelites received the law of Moses, administered through the Aaronic Priesthood as a “schoolmaster to bring [them] unto Christ” (Galatians 3:24). The Law of the Gospel

  10. Leviticus • What is it? What could you compare it to today? • Aaronic Priesthood manual • Who was it for? • Levites • Aaronic Priesthood = Levitical Priesthood • This is when the lesser priesthood is established. • It is also when the priesthood is spread to more than just the prophetical line. The entire tribe of Levi would administer this “preparatory” priesthood. • Preparatory for what?

  14. Let’s Review • The Holy Priesthood is the power to act in the highest ordinances of the Gospel and be in the presence of God. • The Israelites were not ready and could not endure, so they were given a preparatory law and priesthood. • We now have the fullness of the Gospel and the priesthood has been restored.

  15. What is this really about? • What is the real reason behind all of this? What needs to happen to be in the presence of the Lord? • D&C 131:1-4 • It’s about families, eternal life, eternal increase, the power to seal families for eternity. • This is the whole plan.

  16. Notebook Ideas • How is your experience with the priesthood now preparing you to be in the presence of God? • What can you do as part of the preparatory process? • What do think/feel about being in the actual presence of the Lord?
