  1. Becoming a master student By JasleneAujla IT8

  2. What type of learner I am

  3. What type of learner I am Interpersonal and Verbal-Linguistic • Interpersonal: • Enjoy teaching and sharing thoughts • Insight on what people are thinking and feeling • Take leadership when necessary • Thrive on social interaction; like to talk out problems • Verbal-Linguistic: • Use words effectively when reading, listening, speaking, writing • Understand information when written or spoken

  4. How I manage my time

  5. Time management • I usually have really bad time management skills • I get distracted easily and have a short attention span. • Homework that should take me 15 minutes ends up taking an hour because I get sidetracked by something else. • I should be spending my time a lot more wisely and one of my goals is to improve on that.

  6. Study no-no’s • Listening to music while studying distracts you and causes less information to be learned • Studying in a bad environment where there are distractions to sidetrack you • Last-minute cramming/procrastination stresses you out which makes it harder to study • Studying in bed makes you drowsy and it’s harder to focus • Multi-tasking while studying makes you focus less on what you’re learning

  7. Study yes-yes’s • Doing homework at a certain time everyday • Testing yourself on information you learn • Having organized notes • Reviewing information right before a test • Asking questions about what you don’t understand

  8. Cornell notes or mind maps? • Cornell notes would be better for me • I like to see information written down in an organized way, not in pictures or scattered around a page • I like being able to test myself & cornell notes have a separate column to do so • Mind maps seem like they would be really messy and I don’t think I would be able to understand information from them

  9. What I learned about myself • I learned what type of learner I am and which ways I learn the most information • I learned which work habits I need to improve on while studying • I learned what I’m doing well while studying • I learned what cornell notes and mind mapping are • I learned more about my time management skills
