  2. New Beginnings • Gave them zeal to spread the word (Mt. 28:8,19-20) We need a renewed zeal to spread the word to a sinful world (Ac. 8:4) • Led to reverent worship of the Savior (Mt. 28:9,17; Ac. 1:12-14) We need a renewed worship of the divine in a secular world (Jn. 4:24)

New Beginnings • Moved them from doubt to evidence-based belief (Mk. 16:11,13,14; Jn. 20:19-29; Ac. 1:3) We need a renewed faith in Jesus in a skeptical world (Heb. 11:1,6; James 1:6-8) • Took them from sadness to joy (Lk. 24:17,41,52; Jn. 20:20) We need a renewed joy in a sad world (Phil. 4:4)

  4. New Beginnings • Gave them a burning desire for Scripture (Lk. 24:32) We need a renewed burning and yearning for God’s word in an ignorant world (Psa. 119:97, 113, 163) • Led them from trouble to peace (Jn. 20:19,21,26) We need a renewed peace in a troubled world (Phil. 4:7-9)

  5. New Beginnings • Reminded them of love and service (Jn. 20:15ff) We need a renewed love and service for Jesus (Rom. 12:9; Rev. 2:4) • Taught them things concerning the kingdom of God (Acts 1:3) We need a renewed knowledge of God’s kingdom in a humanistic world (Heb. 12:28-29)

  6. New Beginnings • Brought about genuine change of heart and conversion of life (Ac. 9:17; 22:26; 26:16; 1 Cor. 9:1; 15:8) We need a renewed change of mind (Rom. 12:1-2; Eph. 4:22-24)
