  2. Completely renovated in 2003, the cottage now has a modern, bright interior and sleeps a maximum of 7 people. There are 3 bedrooms - one king, a twin and a single, plus a queen size sofa bed in the study. There is one bathroom upstairs with a bath and shower and a cloakroom downstairs. Outside, there is a wooded garden with a mix of oaks, pines and rhododendron bushes; a spacious deck runs across the back of the house where there is an outdoor shower for washing off sand after visits to the beach. For summer days there is a gas barbecue, patio chairs and table for outdoor eating. In the garage is a full size table tennis table. The sitting area, kitchen and dining area are all one large open space, looking onto the back, south facing garden. The kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave, large oven and hob as well as a full range of cooking equipment. In case of bad weather, there is DVD, cable TV and hi-fi, as well as a good selection of games and books. The study has high speed internet access. The cottage is in a quiet, no through road within easy walking or cycling distance of Wellfleet (cycles can be hired locally to explore the miles of dedicated cycle ways which criss-cross the Outer Cape). Wellfleet was once a whaling port and still has a busy harbour (above) where you can buy fresh fish and lobsters just out of the sea! Wellfleet’s town centre is a picture book New England scene, with its clapboard shops and imposing town hall.
