  1. Whole school information meeting / PfA Annual General meeting 27.9.17

  2. After midnight, the enormous lonely iron giant climb on the cliff. He stared out of the water, he didn’t move a bit and the wind blew through his fingers like a trumpet. He still stared at the water splashing on the cliff. He had not seen the sea before. He needs to be happy but he is lonely. Why are there no iron man like him? He thought. Maybe they disappeared like dinosaurs. He wanted desperately to take a bath in the sea so he lifted up his right foot and stepped in.

Communication Last year Use of email to distribute newsletter Content of website updated and overhauled Visibility and availability of staff This year Class half termly newsletters Class areas of the website New website launched in January Improvements to email communications Social media Open mornings and events for parents to find out more about the curriculum and the learning in school

  5. Creativity in the curriculum Last year Curriculum review and monitoring throughout the school This year Investment in a new curriculum for the whole school Greater emphasis on problem solving and practical learning experiences Special ‘one off’ projects or weeks

  6. Online payment Last Year Parent Pay invested in and set up initially for school meals This year Training for new staff in using Parent Pay Expanding payments to music tuition, clubs, governors’ maintenance fund and everything else!

  7. After school clubs Last year Reviewed current offer and external providers This year Increased number of clubs and the range of external providers – to be reviewed. Review the extended day provision to look at demand for breakfast club and after school care

Music provision Last year Keyboard lessons and violin lessons provided Training for all class teachers in teaching whole class music After school choir set up This year New keyboards tutor recruited Whole class recorder programme for Year 2 Whole class percussion and recorder programme for Year 3 provided by the music hub Participation in the Tri-Borough Music Hub Infant singing festival Establishing links to Wigmore Hall and Royal Albert Hall events

Learning outside school Last year Increased visits to some local places of interest including the park, places of worship Regular trips took place This year A series of trips will be planned in line with new school curriculum Regular visits to local places of interest to continue Review provision of a residential trip for KS2 children

More information about lunch Last year Sample menu available on school website and from office This year Lunch menus will be updated regularly on the school website as they become available from the catering company School council tasting day Parents’ tasting event with presentation from catering company

Connection between the main school and EYFS site Last year Reception began to attend some assemblies in the main site by the Spring term This year Reception attend assembly twice a week from start of the year Reception participate in whole school worship in church ‘Buddy’ reading programme between Reception and Year five Reception have PE lessons once a week at the main site Year 5 and Year 6 children will attend collective worship at the EYFS site

  12. Extra information about examinations and secondary school This year SATs information meetings for parents in year two and year six Secondary school transfer meeting for year 5 and year 6 parents School is developing links with local secondary schools School will be offering an after school verbal and non-verbal reasoning club for Year 5 and Year 4 children in the summer term

Confidence building activities Last year Whole school poetry competition introduced Programme of class assemblies Key opportunities to participate in performance throughout the year An after school drama club An after school choir This year An expanded role for children to lead aspects of collective worship An increased number of class led assemblies throughout the year Choir will continue again and drama club will take place later in the year

  15. How is the PfA supporting our school improvement priorities? Funding for new curriculum Purchase of new resources to support learning in Science, Humanities, Art and Design Funding for all school trips and for visitors coming in Purchase of new musical instruments to support whole class programmes Purchase of new outdoor learning resources for the EYFS site Purchase of Mathletics licence Doubling the amount in the school’s book fund
