Top-up call • Russia participated on the same grounds as all other 3rd INCO countries • In total 18 grants allocated in FAB area with participants from 45 countries • 3 with Russian participation • The first joint EC-RF call • Russia additionally funded those Russian teams that succeed in European evaluation

InJoy&Train Project • InJoy&Train project – 2-years SSA grant from FAB-Directorate EC • Objective– involving R&D specialists, multipliers and SMEs from Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine, Armenia, and Belarus (KRUAB) for enhancing of participation in EC FP7 Programme on FAB priorities • Participants - teams from Italy, Greece, Hungary, the Netherlands, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russian Federation, and Ukraine joined their efforts in the project

InJoy&Train Project • InJoy&Trainproject will improve national expertise on the EU's Framework Programmes and its instruments in KRUAB countries • The project will: • provide preferable possibilities for information exchange in FAB research areas • promote competencies of KRUAB countries in the relevant fields in EU countries • ensure awareness and training activities • provide all-round assistance in proposal preparations within FP7 Programme on FAB priorities.

Perspectives for FP7 • Russia is one of International Cooperation Partner Countries (ICPC) • Russia has a special bilateral S&T agreement with EU • The priorities for Specific International Co-operation Actions (SICA) havebeen identified in close cooperation with stakeholders from these regions and countries(Mediterranean, Russia, Balkan, etc.) through specific workshops

Perspectives for FP7 • Increase in Russian participation • Taking into account Russian priorities when formulating a call • There will be 3 topics with obligatory Russian partners in Calls 1 and 2 of FP7 • Joint calls • Special bilateral EC-RF calls in specific areas • Provision of additional funding for Russian participants (like top-up) • Funding of EC teams by the Russianside • Up to 20 M€ allocated in 2007-2009 for joint calls with business community and foreign participation

FP7 should lay down a new era of EC-Russia RDT co-operation • Mechnisms of collaboration of EC and Russia are in place • Working Group ЕС-МE&S established • Regular Biotechnology EC-RF Symposia • discussion forum • brokerage place • First joint calls implemented • Russian TPs mirroring EC TPS formed • EC-Russia R&D priorities along the lines of these TPs agreed (joint Declaration)
