  1. Welcome Members of Stea! March 3, 2010 Trevecca Nazarene University

The President has the major responsibility for the success of the local association. • Work closely with advisors to promote an effective state and chapter program. • Furnish leadership by staying informed and dedicated to Student TEA/NEA. • Preside at regular and special meetings. • Appoint a Public Relations Committee. • Be knowledgeable about parliamentary procedure. • Work closely with program committee. • See that your chapter is represented at state convention and conferences. • Keep records of meetings and pass on to next President. President

  3. Should be of service to the president at all times • Serve as chairperson of the program committee • Be knowledgeable about parliamentary procedures • Assume host duties with guest speakers • Promote and collect submissions to the STEA ADVOCATE Vice President

Keep an accurate written record of all meetings and activities of the chapter • Work closely with your chapter advisors • Word process minutes promptly • Have on hand minutes of previous meetings • Read minutes, state unfinished business • Attend to official correspondence • Keep an accurate record of attendance • At the close of your term, give records to successor. Secretary

Work closely with advisors • See that membership forms are available • Keep a record of all deposited funds • Pay out funds only on authorization • Cooperate with secretary to keep accurate membership records • Keep an itemized record of all receipts and expenditures • Make a treasurer’s report at each regular meeting Treasurer

  6. One of the most important officers of the chapter • Work closely with chapter advisors • Mount news clippings and pictures in a scrapbook and write a history of the year’s work • Be creative and think of new ways to achieve recording your history Historian
