  2. Plausible (adj): apparently reasonable, trustworthy, or believable • Adv: plausibly • N: plausibility

  3. Eccentric (adj): irregular, not following normal conventions • (n): a person who displays such behavior • N: eccentricity

  4. Convey (v): to carry or bring from one place to another; to communicate or make known • N: conveyance

  5. Decipher (v): to make out the meaning of; to interpret (like a code) • Adj: decipherable (in-) • N: cipher

  6. Ovation (n): an enthusiastic reception; prolonged applause

  7. Deter (v): to prevent or discourage from acting • N: deterrent

  8. Embark (v): to board a ship; begin a journey; start a new venture • N: embarkation

  9. Indirect Object: noun or pronoun following an ACTION VERB that answers the question “To whom or for whom did the [subject] [verb] it?” • I gave Mom a present. • To whom did I give a present? • Will NOT be inside a prepositional phrase • Will nearly always be located AFTER the verb, but BEFORE the direct object.
