  1. ARTSMARK GOLD In September 2011 The Arts faculty started a lengthy application to achieve the Artsmark Gold. Artsmark is the Arts Council England’s national award to evaluate, celebrate and develop quality arts education. We recently were told that we have achieved the Artsmark Gold. This is a highly prestigious and rare honour nationally that recognises a very high calibre of attainment, provision and achievement by the Arts. “The application demonstrated an excellent commitment to providing high quality arts provision that is embedded across the curriculum” and in extra curricular work.” Evaluate the arts education Students developing arts education 3 year plan to raise arts profile Students gain experience from a wide range of places Strengths/weaknesses of arts education Identify/nuture most artistically talented Contribution to well being/positive attitudes Creative & innovative approach to learning across curriculum Develop leadership skills Improve teaching & learning through CPD Staff impact of working with professionals Sharing arts achievements Other schools benefit from quality arts education Plan & evaluate partnerships Most successful partnership Professional partnership impact on school Letter of endorsement from partnership/organisation Artsmark is the national programme that enables schools, further education colleges and youth justice settings to evaluate, celebrate and strengthen a quality arts offer. A new focus of Artsmark is to support Arts Council England achieve it’s goal of ensuring every child and young person has the opportunity to experience the richness of the arts by promoting formal education institutions to deliver rich and high quality provision.

The Arts Award • Doing your Arts Award means you will: • take part in different arts activities, anything from street dance to poetry • experience arts organisations and artists, find out more about the world of the arts • create your own art and show off your creative skills • present your arts exploration, share with others what you have made, explored and enjoyed • You collect your arts experiences in an arts log as you go along recording what you find and enjoy. Arts Award will usually take about 25 hours to complete. • Anyone aged 7-25 can take part.
