Getting to Know Ms. Kendra: Hand Tracing Activity and Classroom Rewards

In this engaging "Get to Know Me" activity, students will trace their hands on paper and fill each finger with a word that describes them. They’ll write their name on the middle of the traced hand and decorate it to express their personality. Additionally, each student will write a science-related goal on the back. Students will also learn about Ms. Kendra's background, including her education and hobbies. To encourage good behavior, MOCHA reward tickets will be given for participation, with raffles for prizes every Friday!

  1. Hand Tracing Activity. • Get to know Ms. Kendra. • Go over rewards system. • Get to know each other. • Hand out safety contract and rules. • Homework. To-Do List

Do Now Activity • Trace your hand onto the • blank sheet of paper. • In each finger write a word • that describes you (5 total). • Write your name along the middle of your traced hand. • Decorate with colors and pictures that describe you (be creative!!!) • Cut out your hand. • In a full sentence, write a goal for science on the back.

  3. Get to Know Ms. Kendra • Graduated from Gloucester Catholic. • Played soccer and basketball at GC. • King’s College = BS in Biology with a minor in Neuroscience. • Played basketball at King’s. • Rowan for masters in teaching.

  8. Reward Tickets • Tickets will be given out for modeling good behavior, class participation and preparedness. • Tickets are to be placed in class bin on your way out of class. • Raffles for prizes from the reward chest will take place on surprise days and every Friday!!

  10. Homework!! • Take packet home to parent or guardian and get forms filled out and signed. • Return all 3 forms (7th Grade Gold Team Procedures/Life Practices, Safety Contract, and Contact Information Sheet) and earn a TICKET for a prize raffle tomorrow!
