  2. Similes • Simile • Figure of speech that compares two unlike things using a specific word of comparison such as like, as, than, or resembles • Examples: • “The moon shines like a fifty-cent piece.” • “Eva’s eyes are as glassy as marbles.” • “Lucy feels lighter than a grasshopper.”

  3. “Tiburon” • Read “Tiburon” on pg. 430 • Answer the following questions on a sheet of paper. If you don’t finish in class, this is homework due tomorrow. • Fully describe the scene in the poem.
