  5. What are the conventions of minimalist film posters? Basic object/image/shape that represents the film Simple sans serif typography Title of the film and (sometimes) production company One colour background Flat colour–limited or no textureor dimension

  11. PowerPoint of examples Went through examples and they called out the film name Then listed conventions of minimalist posters on the board:-few colours, -basic shapes – symbols from film, -simple fonts & typography-one colour background-usually flat colour, some with texture

  16. Instructions for activity Went through the process/requirements of task Work in pairs Plan your work Must be three colours, name of the film and at least one symbol/image Approved plan before letting them collect materials Must be completed in a double

Feedback Students were impressed that there was so much diversity in the finished posters They enjoyed the activity and were all on task They demonstrated understanding of key themes and motifs from the film They worked well as a team (both as pairs and a class as a whole) encouraging each other and sharing materials
