Targets • Why it makes sense to have daily devotions • To explore how devotion can be done • Able to understand, observe, analyse and apply a given scripture and form prayers
Questions • Have you known of people who often feel like anxiety and self-doubts weighing them down like a ton of stones? • Why are they often so moody, so downcast, so unhappy, so unfulfilled.. Just so trapped in their own prison?
Questions • Have you come across people who seem to have everything, smart, good looks, popular, happy, full of life, full of love, joy, peace and wisdom? • What liberates them? What guides them? Who mentored them?
Questions • What about people who seem to have it all but still crash out in life?
As I evaluate and reflect on my life, do I know which category I am in? Am I happy or sad with my life?
How do I impact others? Arithmetic progression, eg: Simple interest Linear line Geometric progression, eg: Compound interest Quadratic curves
How do add to others..i.e how do I be a blessing? • Reading, meditating, reflecting and prayerfully living God’s Word daily in our lives help us to ‘add’ to people through • Timely encouragement • Building others up • Giving wise counsel in truth and in love • Acts of kindness • Genuine compassion He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. 1Thessalonians 5:10 …that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third dayaccording to the Scriptures…1Corinthians 15:3-4
