Purpose of committee To study, evaluate, and identify the most effective and equitable internal boundary lines for Andover Public Schools.
Committee Norms • We will actively listen to one another. Every idea is given a fair hearing, and people are comfortable expressing their ideas without fear of ridicule. • The needs of the district as a whole take precedent over the needs of individuals. There are no personal agendas advanced. • Decisions are reached by consensus, where most are in agreement or willing to go along. • Respect is a core value, and will be shown at all times. • We will start and end on time.
Important Considerations • Three elementary schools north, three south • Minimize moves • Keep neighborhoods together • Start with the end in mind and work back • Address crowding where it’s an issue • Ease transportation needs • Balance socioeconomic status • Balance diversity
