  2. You might get a question like the next one. Be calm and think. Print it out. Do not try it at the moment.

  4. What you must do. 1] You must study the information. 2] You must write down two conclusions. What is a conclusion?

  5. What is a conclusion? A conclusion is a decision you come to about a topic after studying information about that topic. To make a conclusion about Mr Smith’s golf you would have to look at his handicap, scorecards and see if he has won any competitions. Then you could decide if he was good or bad at golf and give reasons why you decided this. This would be your conclusion.

  6. What you must do. 1] You must study the information. 2] You must write down two conclusions. 3] You must give evidence to support your conclusions. What is evidence?

  7. What is evidence? Evidence is written information or statistics from the sources that show that your conclusion about a topic is correct. Pick the correct written information to back up your conclusion. Do the figures in a table go up or down? Does a graph go up or down? You would say what is happening and give written information or figures as your evidence. or

  9. Writing your answer My first conclusion is about the country with the biggest change in the numbers in its armed forces. The USA went from 2,181 in 1990 to 1,492 in 2005. This is a drop of 689 by far the biggest. My conclusion is that the USA had the biggest change. You must write down one conclusion. You must give evidence to support each of your conclusions.

  10. Writing your answer My second conclusion is about what happens to the numbers in the armed forces as defence spending rises . Greece’s defence spending went up from 500 to 610. Greece’s armed forces went from 201 to 209. My conclusion is that as defence spending rises so does the number in the armed forces. You must write down one conclusion. You must give evidence to support each of your conclusions.
