  3. Objectives • To explain routes into PCET • To identify entry requirements and application procedures • To recognise the role and skills of a PCET tutor L

  4. Question • What do you clean your teeth with, brush your hair with and sit on? • A toothbrush, a hairbrush and a chair • Moral – always use the multimodal approach! L

Routes into PCET • Pre-Service Professional Graduate Certificate in Education/Certificate in Education (one year full time) • In- Service Professional Graduate Certificate in Education/Certificate in Education (two years part time) • Edexel BTEC ‘Threshold licence to teach’ PTLLS Award & CTLLS Certificate (12 weeks & 24 weeks) J

  6. Types of learners • 14 upwards – no age limit • FE & HE • Vocationally orientated J

  7. Why PCET? • Using the individual wipe boards, please write down TWO reasons why you would like to teach in FE J

  15. How to apply • Pre-service – application pack (closing date 31 March 2012) • In-Service – apply once employed in PCET • PTLLS – Application form – courses start January, April & September – evening & daytime. • The PTLLS & CTLLS could be completed alongside your current studies J
