  1. Baptism Who needs to be Baptized

  2. Which Baptism is Right? • Ephesians 4:4-6 •  4There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; • 5One Lord, one faith, one baptism, •  6One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

  3. The Body of Christ is One • 1 Corinthians 12:12-14  •  12For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. •  13For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. •  14For the body is not one member, but many.

  4. The Purpose of Baptism! • Romans 6:3-5  •  3Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? •  4Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. •  5For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

  5. Shows Confession • Mark 1:3-5  •  3The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. •  4John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. •  5And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.

  6. The Method of Baptism • Acts 8:37-39  •  37And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. •  38And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. •  39And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

  7. Our Example is Jesus! • Matthew 3:13-15  •  13Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. •  14But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? •  15And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

  8. Pleasing unto the Lord! • Matthew 3:15-17  •  15And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. •  16And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: •  17And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

  9. Personal Acceptance & Public Confession • Mark 16:16He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

  10. What are you waiting for? • Acts 22:15   16And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

  11. The Lord is calling YOU! • Acts 2:37-39  •  37Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? •  38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. •  39For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.
