Harris County features several key watersheds within Loop 610, including White Oak Bayou, Buffalo Bayou, and Brays Bayou. Collectively, these areas serve a large population, with significant drainage capabilities and primary streams vital for flood control. Flooding occurs on average once per decade in these watersheds. The Buffalo Bayou area is set for $5.6 billion in investment to enhance its flood capacity and facilitate waterfront growth, while the Project Brays aims to implement various modifications and improvements for effective stormwater management.
