  5. Senior Exam ScheduleThursday May 26 Exam Period 1 and a Makeup* *Each student is responsible for scheduling this with their teacher Seniors are finished at this time and need not report to school until June 1 at 8:30 am for the rehearsal.

  6. Graduation Rehearsal • Wednesday, June 1 in the cafeteria at 8:30 am. • All obligations must be paid. • Practice is mandatory • Caps and gowns will be distributed after rehearsal.

  7. Senior Picnic (after practice) • Thursday June 1 at High Point Farms • Begins after practice until 2:15 • Free to all seniors • Students are responsible for transportation to and from the picnic • All school rules apply even though we are off campus. • Volunteers are still needed

  8. Student Commencement Expectations • Participating in graduation is a privilege, not a right. • All seniors walking in graduation must conform to dress expectations. • Behavior is to reflect the dignity of the ceremony

  9. Student Commencement Expectations • All personal items should be left at home or in the car. • This includes cell phones, Ipods, sunscreen etc. • A bag will be provided for collection of any items brought into the cafeteria. • No Beach balls

  10. Parent Commencement Expectations This is a special time for EVERY family. Everyone wants to hear their student’s name called. SO Please be considerate of the others around you and allow them to hear each name that is called.

  11. Tickets • All seniors get 5 general admission tickets and 1 indoor/outdoor ticket • Extra ticket requests go to Mrs. Van Hoesen (outdoor tickets only, there are no extra auditorium tickets) • Handicap ticket requests go to the main office. (use the form in your packet) • If you need to pick up tickets, go to main office.

  12. Graduation Day -In the Event of Rain • Graduates report to Cafeteria by 9:00 am on June 2. • All those with white tickets go to classrooms to watch graduation via closed circuit TV. • All those with green tickets go to auditorium.

  13. Parking • Parking will be a big issue. Carpooling with your students is suggested. • Additional Parking will be available at the Fire Activities center. A free shuttle bus will begin at 8:30

  14. Handicap Items 1 • Special handicap seating is available on the field. You must exchange regular tickets for handicap tickets in advance. One person may accompany each handicap person. • Handicap parking will be available on a first come first serve basis, approximately 40 spaces will be available. A car must have the MVA handicapped tag. • If no spaces are left, the handicapped person may be dropped off at the entrance gate. Wheelchair assistance will be available.

  15. Handicap Items 2 • Guest who need hearing impaired services need to contact DHS main office by May 20.

  16. Weather Items 1 • Graduation will be held outside unless weather does not permit. If it starts to rain during commencement, we will stay outside. • If thunder is present, we will follow evacuation plans. Graduates will proceed to the cafeteria, guests will proceed inside to other parts of the building. • We will provide a closed circuit TV broadcast in the math area and auditorium, rain or shine.

  17. Weather Items 2 • If due to weather conditions, graduation is held inside, then the following applies: • Front doors will open at 9:00. No one will be permitted to enter the café doors after 9:30. • Persons with green tickets will only be permitted in the auditorium.

Weather Items 3 • If due to weather conditions, graduation is held inside • Yellow handicapped tickets will report to rooms 131- 134 by front entrance. • All other guests will view commencement via closed circuit TV in the classrooms. • Parents and guest will not be allowed to enter the café area after graduation.

  19. Video • Graduation will be videotaped by a professional company and videos may be ordered and purchased. • Blanton Studios will also be taking individual pictures of students receiving their diplomas. Parents will be notified by mail if they wish to purchase pictures,. • A senior class video will also be available for purchase through June 6.

  20. Ticket Distribution • You see the alphabet signs up on the wall across the gym. Please go to the proper line for your student’s last name. • You will be asked to PRINT your name and your relationship to the student. • Please remember everyone will get their tickets (except those whose student owes an obligation to the school). • Ms. Berg will be available to collect those obligations and answer any questions. • THANK YOU
