  4. Hospital Tobacco Cessation Units • To help hospital workers who look for help to quit smoking • Hospital Contribution: Staff: 1 Doctor / 1 Nurse / (1 Psychologist desirable). Working part time (2-3 hours a week) • Public Health Department Contribution: Funds to cover 50% of the pharmacological therapieswhen needed

CONCLUSIONS and FUTURE • 25.1% of people who went to the HTCU looking for help to quit were abstinent 1 year after the beginning of the therapy • Results justify the establishment of HTUC • The HTUC must be“Treatment units for patients admitted in hospitals” (not only for those who want to quit, but also for patients who must respect the “No Smoking Policies” desirable in hospitals) • Specialized Treatment Units: Heavy Smokers (Those who can not be treated in primary care) • Smoke-free Hospital Policy Management Units
