In January 2012, significant strides were made in improving water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) in Pakistan's Balochistan and KPK/FATA regions. In Balochistan, 60 hand pumps were installed or repaired, along with 175 technical trainings for pump maintenance, and hygiene promotion in 51 villages. The repair of 15 water storage ponds and installation of 76 auto-chlorinators were also accomplished. In KPK/FATA, the region faces the arrival of 4,133 families in Jalozai Camp and a displaced population of 104,234 families. Ongoing humanitarian efforts include project proposals for early recovery and addressing funding assessments.
