  3. Student'sPortion • Student Application • Essay • Additional Documents • Fee • Beware of application deadline! In some cases, this is a receipt date.

  4. Common Application • www.commonapplication.com • Electronic submission of all documents • College makes no distinction between college’s own form and Common Application

  5. Counselor's Portion • Transcript • Profile • Recommendations and Corresponding Forms • Predicted IB Scores • Canada – Grade Equivalency and Release Form in some cases

  6. Transcript • Record of all semester marks beginning with 9th grade • Includes semester weighted GPA • Explanation of course codes • IB and AP scores will not appear • SAT and ACT scores will not appear

School Profile • School and Community • AP and IB offerings • Honors classes • Graduation requirements • Marking system and GPA weighting scale • GPA percentile distribution for junior year of graduating class by semester • Grade distribution for junior year courses – semester 2 • IB and AP results • SAT averages • University admittances

  8. College Application Form • Complete and submit to Guidance Office no later than September 15 for Early and Rolling and November 15 for Regular round applications • Form found on-line on ASP website under Upper School/College Guidance

Transcript Request Form • Transcript Request Form must be completed when not using Common Application • Indicate mailing address or online submission link (+ 3 address labels if mailing) • Submit to the Guidance Office by Sept 15 for Early/Rolling and Nov 15 for Regular Decision • Attach university forms for counselor to complete

  10. Teacher Recommendation • Request must be made by Sept 15 for Early/Rolling and Nov 15 for Regular Decision • Most institutions require no more than two teacher recommendations • Select the same teachers for all recommendations • Attach university forms for teacher to complete

  11. Counselor Recommendation • College Application Form also serves as Counselor Recommendation Form • Completed Student Personal Data Sheet • Completed Parent Questionnaire

  12. CANADA • Each university has specific admission requirements • Application deadline varies from January to March • Students applying with the IB Diploma do not need SAT scores but may require TOEFL • Students applying with high school diploma will usually require SAT or ACT scores

  14. STANDARDIZED TESTING • Scores must be reported to colleges by the Collegeboard or ACT • Score choice available for most colleges • Most colleges do NOT super score ACT results • Beware of Test-by deadlines and specific testing requirements

  15. TOEFL/IELTS Internet based Register at: www.toefl.org www.ielts.org (British Council is test centre in Paris for IELTS) May advantage a student with a low SAT CR score
