On Statistics Sweden • Statistics Sweden is a well developed National Statistical Office and is in the frontline in many areas of statistics. • Statistics Sweden has a long experience from technical assistance in statistics. • Most of our projects are long-term ( 2-3 years) of institutional co-operation.
On Statistics Sweden However, Statistics Sweden is not a donor agency. Most of our projects are financed through Sida, the Swedish Development Aid Authority. Others are funded by World Bank, EU, UN.
On Sida • Sida, the Swedish Development Aid Authority is supporting development of public administration in many countries. • Sida has a good understanding of the important role of statistics for development and is supporting statistics in many countries.
Current projects Kyrgyz Republic Current project will be finalized in October this year. Sida seems to be willing to finance an additional period of co-operation. Subjects are: Service statistics Management issues IT, Database development Time use survey
Current projects Kazakhstan Current project will be finalized in October this year. A short scaling down period might be needed. Subjects: Living conditions for disabled persons Population Register Labour Cost Index
Current projects Armenia A project is just finalized and a new project will be started fairly soon. Subjects: Farm register Living conditions for disabled persons Time use survey Environmental statistics
Current projects Azerbaijan A project has just been finalized and a contract for a new 3 year period is just signed. Subjects: IT, local network and equipment Energy statistics Survey on street children Time use and gender statistics
