  1. Preparing Bachelor Project…

  2. Timeline • Exam will be somewhere in the week 4-7 July, but you have to finish and deliver the thesis 10 days before the exam • Let’s consider the deadline: 20th of June=> 4 months!!! • Deliverables: • Code (deadline: 10th of June) • Written thesis: 50-80 pages (deadline:20th of June)

  3. Administrative details • Start-up group informative meeting (choose one, not mandatory, ask your colleagues about what we talk, if you can’t make it): • Tuesday, 23nd of February , 17-18, CJ101 • Wednesday, 24th of February, 17-18 CJ101 • One meeting of at least 30 min at every 2 weeks=> 7-8 individual meetings (mandatory) • if we can’t meet face-to-face, you have to show me online what you did (but it’s preferable face-to-face) • Between 20th of June and your bachelor exam: • 1 individual meeting (mandatory) • 1 group meeting - simulation for the final presentation (mandatory)

  4. Individual meetings • Have to be scheduled (by e-mail or facebook), on these days: • Tuesday, 12-20, in CJ107 • Wednesday, 16-20, in CJ107 • The first one should take place no later than 10th of March • NOTE: You have to take a grade on the 2nd semester which values 10 ECTS and which reflects your involvement in your final project preparation (this grade is given by me!) • You will take another grade for the bachelor exam (code, written thesis, presentation + questions) given by committee, but the starting point is the grade given by the advisor (me!); this starting point != the grade of 10 ECTS (e.g. you can take 10 for the preparation and 9 for the final result or viceversa)

  5. Content of the Written Thesis • Introduction • Current context of your research, problem statement, argumentation (1-2 page) (deadline: 1st meeting) • Objectives of your research (1/2 page) (deadline: 1st meeting) • Structure of your thesis (1/2 pages) (deadline: during 1th meeting) • State of the art • Your application is need-driven and/or technology-driven (deadline: 1st meeting) • Other similar applications/methods/algorithms/… (underline what they don’t have) (deadline: 2nd meeting) • Research methodology • How did you establish the requirements? (survey, literature review etc) (deadline: 2nd meeting) • Requirements (functional, non-functional, req diagram, house of quality, technologies you plan to use) (deadline: 2nd meeting) • Your application • Architecture • Functionalities (with behaviour diagrams, print screens) • Technologies (short description) • Your proposed algorithm/new feature about you want to talk more – core of your application (if exists) • Validation (validation through a survey, experiment, performance tests …) • Conclusions & future improvements (why your application is useful, innovative…) • References (at least 30, in an uniform style, e.g. APA style) • no more than 10 web links • you can search here: http://hcibib.org/www.sciencedirect.com • Annexes (pieces of code, not all the code; survey forms …)
