  1. We request your input... Note: this is the slide that will appear in the PPT presentation before a questions is asked.

  2. I need this space to be clear on the slide Example of slide with 10 response choices and horizontal chart with bar colors turned off and percentages placed to left of response choices. Bullets can be any color. Bullets may be numeric or alpha. All presenters should use same bullet format (alpha or number) for consistency. • Slides may have up to 10 response choices • The appearance of a slide depends on how much verbiage is in the answer choices • As you can see, more “wordy” response choices take up more space on the screen and determines the overall appearance • Font size can be reduced • However, smaller font may not be readable from back of room • Better to limit wordiness of answer choices • Slides such as this example work better with horizontal chart • I generally turn off chart colors and show percentages only • To enhance readability • Also, alignment of results percentages may not align properly with response choices Rectangle correct answer indicator – can be any color Need this space to be clear

  3. Vertical bar graph – generally the best choice The percentage of Medicare beneficiaries living in nursing homes is: Filled rectangle correct answer indicator. Can be any color. • less than 5% • 5-10% • more than 10% Smiley face correct answer indicator Correct answer indicator can also be a check , a star, an arrow or any custom image if you provide as a re-sizable image. 10

  4. The percentage of Medicare beneficiaries living in nursing homes is: • less than 5% • 5-10% • more than 10% Exploded Pie graph – works OK with 2-5 response choices. Very small percentages sometimes get “scrunched up” affecting readability. This type of chart may also present on-screen readability difficulty due to the formatting of the legend (A, B, C)

  5. What puts a person in a nursing home? Graph bars may be set to any color. The default is the color scheme of the Master Slide (as in previous 3 slides). I can set the bar colors to whatever colors you desire (within my pallet). • Concerned family members • Certain diseases, such as dementia • Loss of ADL’s • Response choice 4 • Response choice 5 • Response choice 6 10

  6. For every person living in a nursing home, there are how many people living in the community with the same degree of disability? • 1 • 2.5 • 5 10

  7. Assisted living facilities are responsible for coordinating residents’ medical care. • Yes • No 10

  8. Medicare and Medicaid originated: • As amendments to the legislation that established Social Security • As part of FDR’s “new deal” • In spite of strong objections from Harry Truman 10

  9. The number of nursing homes (and nh beds) in the US is: • Increasing • Staying the same • Decreasing 10
