Proposed LETB Arrangements in the NW • Proposals for a single NW LETB, with full delegated authorities to the 3 NW NLGs have been discussed • A number of factors being considered both nationally and in the NW, to help ensure the right balance between regional scale and resource, including alignment with emerging AHSNs and having three LETBs in the NW • Discussions between NLG Chairs and the North of England Director of Workforce and Education to progress in early April, informed by AHSN guidance in March

Education Commissioning Plan – Consultation Outcome • Consultation on re-freshed draft Plan for non-medical undergraduate commissions now complete • Overall support for greater integration of service based workforce planning and education commissioning moving forward, reflecting the shift in delivery of services and increasing demand for workforce modernisation, flexibility and creativity • Commissioning Plan for 2012/13 approved, with plans to re-visit process for 2013/14

  4. Assessing Values and Behaviours in Student Recruitment and Selection • Plans underway to scope and pilot more rigorous assessment of values and behaviours at the point of student recruitment and selection over 2012/13 • Driven by a number of national and local initiatives, the specification will be informed by the NW HRDs, to ensure appropriate sharing and cohesion of best practice across the NLG areas
