What are the Most Promising Strategies we Currently See? • Uniformity in collecting data and quality indicators to help us identify what works, what doesn’t and validates our request for funding. • Paraprofessional Programs – Provides funding sponsored by the CTC teacher development programs providing scholarships to candidates to help them toward degree completion, through preliminary credential and assist them in becoming classroom teachers. • Strong partnerships between Community Colleges and UC’s, CSU’s and Private Colleges.

  3. What are the critical Success Factors? • Identify measurable benchmarks • Counseling, Outreach and Stable Funding • Policies that support effective 2+2+2 programs • Become part of the policy making body

What immediate steps can be taken to grow the success of these strategies? • Create and articulate the complex portrait of what it means to be a teacher that we can all use in dialogue with prospective teachers and the community. • Setting realistic benchmarks and celebrating them along the way. • Continued Collaboration between CCC’s, Four Year Institutions and School Districts • Target Legislature

What immediate steps can be taken to grow the success of these strategies? • Explore joint funding opportunities that can follow students from the community college through four year institutions. • Work collaboratively (CC’s and 4YI’s) to secure funding sources. • Access Private Industry for funding. • Start With Public Affairs and Philanthropy – at the company headquarters.
