Process for SREC Updates • Gather OSIP Documentation (completed) • OSIP documentation completed for: • (06-058-61) New CONOPS • Enough to begin exploratory research evaluation (prototyping) to finalize the Stage 2 CONOPS/ORD • (06-062) Risk reduction Through GFESuite Pre-Releases – PR (Ward), ER (Novak) • Through OSIP Stage 2 • Other items need at a minimum Gate 1 and 2 material (SON, Project Plan, CONOPS/ORD) • These will be reviewed at the OB8.2 (January 2007) and OB8.3 (June 2007) SREC reviews

Process for SREC Updates • Obtain LOE from Development Organizations • Completed for: • (06-058-61) New CONOPS • Exploratory research evaluation (prototyping) to finalize the Stage 2 CONOPS/ORD • Level of effort 116 staff months of GSD staff • Will require delaying the following development activates assigned to GSD • OB8 - Backlog Drs (2m) • OB8 - Stack Tracing (0.4m) • OB9 - Next Generation Warning Tool (4m) • OB9 - Ensembles/Probabilistic Forecasting (8m) • OB9 - AWIPS Software training capability (8m) • OB9 - AWIPS Evolution: Visualization techniques (16m) • In progress for the following task: • (06-062) Risk reduction Through GFESuite Pre-Releases – PR (Ward), ER (Novak)

Process for SREC Updates • Evaluate and Recommend Changes (if necessary) • SREC Vice Chairperson will evaluate the LOE estimates, availability of resources, and release schedule and propose options • SREC Voting members will review the options and recommend a change to OB8 baseline • Note: Any new addition will usually require taking something off the list unless noted by the development organization • SREC Voting members will ratify the proposed change • Development Organizations will be notified

DR team • Review of DR Backlog • Objective • Prioritize Unassigned DRs and Assign to a release • Results • Cancel or OBE (11 majors and 28 minors) • Retest and Close (46 majors and 24 minors) • OB8.1 (53 majors and 59 minors) • OB8.2 (51 majors and 26 minors) • OB8.3 (13 Majors and 50 minors) • DR Team is validating the release assignments • Looking to complete this task by October 15, 2006
