  2. French Revolution • Who- France was heavily in debt, and so Louis XVI, an absolute ruler who was horrible, called together the estate generals, which consisted of • 1st estate- The Clergy • 2nd estate- Nobility • 3rd estate- Everyone else Meeting of all the estate generals LOUIS XVI

French Revolution • What- Well the 3rd estate was heavily taxed, in order to help pull France out of debt, well the 3rd estate became tired of this, and so they went to the estate generals meeting, literally had 1 representative vote, same went for the 1st and 2nd estate, but they always voted against the 3rd estate. So this is when the 3rd estate created their own Legislative called, The General Assembly, which then brought conflicts, because they tried to write their own constitution, and began raiding random government related things. In order to get weapons, they raided they Bastille, and prior to this, they had found out Louis sent 20,000 troops to stop the 3rd estates riots. And so when the Bastille is raided to get weapons to fend on the 20,000, and this is how the French Revolution starts.

  5. When- • The war began on July 14, 1789 (Bastille Day)  • In August 1795, a new constitution was promulgated that created a 5-man executive committee, known as the Directory, and the war ends. BASTILLE TheFRENCHCONSTITUTION

Why • Well the 3rd estate had the following problems • Monstrously taxes • No representation • Poverty for majority of it • Low incomes • Through this, they created the General Assembly and also revolted to stop these problems and create a fair country. Through all of this, a new ruler at the end arises, and that is Napoleon Bonaparte
